~ Dawn ~

Upon a soft green carpet of
Dewy chamomile
A fairy blends with Mother Nature’s
Beauty for a while.
She’ll greet the day that’s dawning,
and wish the night away,
Awaking every creature to
Begin the brand new day.

Bluebells dance amongst the breeze,
The woodland laced with mist, as
dew drops sparkle magically
Where morning sun has kissed.
A symphony of birdsong,
And whispering of trees,
A bull frog, and a cricket,
The humming of the bees.

A sprinkling of stardust, and
Soon she will retreat
Until the night returns again,
when all the fairies meet.
Deep within the forest,
Beneath the starry skies
Dancing in the moonbeams,
Until the sun does rise.

~ The Dream fairy ~

I dreamt a little fairy
with teensie weensie toes,
was flying round my bedroom
then landed on my nose!
She said "Come on, let's fly away"
I took her tiny hand, and
somehow then she lifted me ...
though hard to understand!

We flew above the trees so high.
The Moon was full and bright, and
after just the shortest time
we saw the greatest sight ... as
in the forest down below
beside an old Oak tree,
the biggest fairy party that you'd
ever hope to see!

I wanted to join in as well,
they danced in a large ring
with such Angelic voices as they
all began to sing.
I asked my fairy friend "Please stop"
but she just flew on by ...
infuriating me so much,
I just kept saying "Why?"

We carried on for miles and miles,
just where to - I'm not sure, but
soon I'd nearly had enough,
knowing not what's in store!
Delighted then I saw that we were
back above the wood, so
nicely asked if I could land ...
(the politest way I could!)

She DROPPED me and I took a tumble,
bumping my poor head, and
did I see the fairies? NO!
I landed back in bed
Another mystery of life
that's hard to understand ...
but on my pillow lays the wand
she held within her hand.

~ The Fairy Godmother ~

There was a fairy Godmother that lost some of her magic,
So then her life became a bore and got a trifle tragic.
She kept her spell book in a bag, but left it on the bus.
The driver couldn’t find it so she kicked up such a fuss!
Without her little spell book she was really lost indeed.
She tried hard to remember things but didn’t quite succeed …
Reciting just a little chant she seemed to miss a word,
Then everything she tried to do just went wrong or absurd!

She tried to make fine Horses, from several old white rats,
But Horses they did not become, instead just blind old bats,
A Pumpkin to a carriage? “Oh no!” did Cinders ‘shout’, as
In the Pumpkins place just sat A rotten Brussels Sprout!
Now, Cinders needed flashy Clothes, if she was to go out,
But seeing how her Godmother had flunked she had her doubt,
Then With a wave she tapped her wand and Cinders was redressed,
But now looked like a Police woman, She made her first arrest!

With Godmother shut behind bars then to the ball she went,
But had to drive a police car as no carriage was she sent.
Slippers didn’t happen, no! … But flat black lace up shoes, and
As she was on duty, no Cigarettes or booze!
She got those ugly sisters too, She saw them drink and drive, so
In the cell with Godmother, till Stepmother arrived,
She Paid a load of money, and Baled the whole three out, but
Meanwhile Cinderella told the Prince it was his shout!

You see, the clock chimed midnight so her working day complete, so
Off she threw those clumpy shoes and Boogied with bare feet.
The Sisters got back just too late for Cinders left already,
Beside her sat her handsome Prince who’d asked her to go steady!
After a brief engagement they declared their wedding day, the
Sisters were so jealous that they turned Cinders away.
The Godmother accepted and she caught the bus once more,
And Just as luck would have it, Her bag was on the floor!

So everyone was happy and the wedding was divine, and
Cinders looked magnificent, the Prince dressed extra fine, the
Sisters became pretty, The Pumpkin a great carriage, pulled
By the finest horses to the place of Cinders marriage!
A fairytale occasion, a no less than ‘perfect’ day, though
Cinders worried needlessly when midnight came her way.
She glanced across the table and her Godmother did wink,
And Raised her glass to toast the couple with her fizzy drink!

The End
